Pontybrenin is a small Welsh town where the mines have long since closed and unemployment and drug abuse are rife. Pontybrenin also has a reputation as the most haunted town in Europe which the local council is exploiting to create a new and unique tourist industry. As a result, the town now hosts several conferences a year on the supernatural but, naturally, the local churches are less than pleased to see the streets filled with minority religionists, pagans, druids and the devotees of a new and powerful cult: The Church of The All-Seeing Eye. A vengeful local reporter persuades the council to recruit the Lewis family to sell the town’s paranormal heritage which is the last thing this extraordinary family needs. The Department of Security also send a senior field agent, Mister Ambrose, to investigate the family and persuade them to work for the Department as far-seers and worse. Meanwhile, the Church of the All-Seeing Eye find that Edgar Ashcroft, the founder of their cult, has returned from the dead to open the doorway for his Master, an Ultimate Predator, to cross over and begin to feed. Only Thomas Lewis and his niece, Gemma, can stop Ashcroft – if only they could get away from the cameras, the cultists, the secret service agents, the local clergy, the drug dealers and - worst of all - the talent scouts.
