Herewith
the third book of tales of Pellican Square and its inhabitants. The Square
is named after its founder, Sir Gosbert Pellican (R.I.P.), last in line of
the Pellican family: landowners and entrepreneurs, so there is no mistake in
the spelling of their name.
The
stories within these covers are eclectic in form: some are amusing, some
seriously poignant, some will arouse nostalgia; all entertain the reader.
They are written about people enjoying themselves and one another, fairly
free of the stifling bureaucracy within which we are now enclosed or, if
not, they ignored it with composure or contempt. Pellican Square, and its
like throughout this nation, has crumbled under the accumulation of petty
restrictions, regulations, rules and directives. Therefore, this anthology
is the last in the Pellican Square series –
perhaps.
